Revenue Per user beats Amazon Appstore out iOS, Google Play, says Game Developer TinyCo

TinyCo, a mobile gaming startup backed by Andreessen Horowitz, is yet another important game developer who came forward to show that revenue per user on Amazon's appstore is recorded much higher than what is on Google.

The company, which has over # 25, grossing games on both iOS and Android, looked at his Tiny Village, a simulation game prehistoric theme that is available on all three shops from Google, Apple and Amazon, and found that when you stop by the platform, the Amazon store 80 percent better Monetize the user from iTunes. If you break out Amazon Kindle Tablet market, 43 percent to monetize the user better than iPads. So Amazon is doing even better than Apple 's, according to their numbers.

This rag is not on Google. TinyCo numbers are actually not so bad, if you look at the Google store. When you look at Android phones only (excluding any Amazon devices, because they offer a phone), these devices generates 82 percent of revenue per user which iPhones do.

Update: some readers complain pointing to an isolated case of a single developer, which obviously is not representative of the entire market. So here's the thing: TinyCo is one of the few dozen game developers that actually took the top grossing in all three stores. Amazon's market is still small and released only in-app purchases beta a few weeks ago, so there are really that many developers who have significant data ARPU (average revenue per user).

And here's the bigger picture: TinyCo numbers are a little different from recent data of mobile analytics provider swirl, which looked at a basket of apps that were available through all three shops. Gust found that for every $ 1 raised for every user in the iOS store, shop Amazon generated $ 0.89 and Google product $0,23 game. Swirl analysis are more than 150,000 apps, so they have a very large sample size.

Another great, independent developer also shared some promising statistics on Amazon's Appstore a few weeks ago: Storm8 said that it raised $ 700,000 in revenue during its first month in the Amazon store.

There are a few things to think about with all first data outside the shop Amazon, however. 1) Google hasn't had the experience of years that Amazon has in processing payments and managing a model-centric e-commerce revenue. 2) lacks the database of credit cards that both Amazon and Apple, which creates additional friction for consumers when they want to pay and enter their personal information. 3) is still early so Amazon kindles can only sell to early adopters, who have more disposable income. Numbers of time, revenue per user can trend downwards as a device or platform crosses into the mainstream. Amazon Appstore 4) is still only available to American consumers. So from iTunes and Google Play numbers are on average customers from international markets less profitable.
